At the completion of this course, participants will in the context of a low-resource community be able to:
- Identify the influence and character of cultures
- Employ a process of observing, understanding and adjusting to cultural differences
- Design culturally appropriate healthcare interventions
- Successfully manage the personal experiences of culture shock, adaptation and reentry
