Chair
Timothy Myrick MD

Dr. Timothy Myrick lived and served for two decades with his family in the Muslim world, including sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Horn of Africa – including INMED Training Sites Kanad Hospital and Kijabe Hospital. His wife, Lori, has served as a labor and delivery nurse alongside him. While in Kenya, they focused on the needs of Somali refugees. Tim communicates fluently in Arabic and French, has taught medical school in northern Somalia, and is currently teaching family medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Don Philgreen MD

Dr. Philgreen’s 50+ year healthcare career began at the University of Chicago School of Medicine followed by a rotating internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. Dr. Philgreen’s first service was two years with the Indian Health Service on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Arizona. He served in private practice in Ottawa, Kansas before becoming the medical director for Resource Health crisis pregnancy ministries. In 1996, Dr. Philgreen continued to share his vision and skills joining the faculty at Research Medical Center Family Medicine Residency where he continues to teach today. In 2004, he was named the Missouri Family Physician of the Year by the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians and was a runner-up in the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Physician of the Year. In his entire career, Dr Philgreen has delivered 4900+ babies.

Peter Greenspan DO

Dr. Greenspan is a native of Brooklyn, New York, and a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since 1997, this Board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist has instructed medical students and residents in the Kansas City area through his appointments to the faculty of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and University Health Family Medicine Residency Programs. Dr. Greenspan, a messianic Jew, is a recognized authority on subjects of apologetics, medical ethics and human cloning.

Mike Searcy CFP

Mike Searcy is a Certified Financial Planner with Searcy Financial Services, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the College for Financial Planning at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition, he has served as Education Chairman and President for the Kansas City Chapter of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and as an advisory board member to the National Committee of the International Association for Financial Planning. He is a former member of the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy. Michael has been a Rotarian since 1995 and for ten years participated with medical specialty care teams providing care in Central America.

Douglas Davenport, PhD

Dr. Douglas Davenport currently serves as Interim Dean of the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies at the University of Central Missouri. Doug has served in a variety of roles in Missouri higher education, including Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Missouri Western State University and serving as a tenured faculty member, department chair, and dean at Truman State University. Doug has also been involved in ministry at a number of churches as a pastor, elder, and staff member. He received a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from Texas Tech University in political science and public administration respectively, and a B.A. in Bible from Central Bible College (now Evangel University). He and his wife Linda reside in Blue Springs and enjoy spending time with their two children and seven grandchildren.

Pedro David "PD" Espinoza

Pedro David Espinoza is a TED speaker, entrepreneur, AI investor, and author. In 2014, Pedro became the Founder & CEO of SmileyGo, an app that helped companies invest smarter. SmileyGo indexed the data of 1.3 million NGOs in addition to having users in 30 countries. Incubated at SkyDeck, his software startup gained funding from 1517 Fund, Frank Baxter, Jack Larson, and Berkeley Haas Seed Fund. In 2017, Janet Napolitano awarded Pedro The University of California Entrepreneur Winner. In 2018, Pedro founded Pan Peru USA, a venture that empowers women to become entrepreneurs. With the support from Fortune 500s, Pan Peru has scaled from empowering 1 to 100 women. In 2019, Pedro wrote a book with Jorge Titinger with contributions from Eric Schmidt, Reed Hastings, and Dan Schulman. Pedro's book – Differences That Make A Difference – attracted 100 CEOs as contributors such as Pat Gelsinger who wrote the foreword. His book received the 2020 Best Business Book Award by Latino International.

Educated at Berkeley, Stanford, and Harvard, Pedro began his career as a mechanic during his summers as a teen. In 2010, Pedro launched his music singles on Apple, Spotify and Amazon. Pedro is the Founder & General Partner of PDE Ventures, a venture capital fund that has 18 startup investments such as KiwiBot, Mocafi and Happioh. He is also a limited partner at venture capital funds such as Cortado Ventures, GoodLight Capital, and 1Flourish Capital. In 2021, The Silicon Valley Business Journal recognized him as a Latin Business Leadership Honoree.

In 2016, Pedro became a distinguished keynote speaker. Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta are some of the companies he has given speeches. Pedro has given 300 keynotes on grit by sharing his entrepreneurial immigrant story. In 2020, he became an engineering lecturer at Tecnologico de Monterrey. In 2021, Pedro became a Special Advisor to Blue Shield’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. James Cruz. In 2024, Pedro's second book – The Real ROI: Return on Inclusion – attracted 50 CEOs as writing contributors such as Michael Dell, John Hennessy, and Shellye Archambeau.

Pedro has been profiled in Forbes, Nasdaq, Yahoo Finance, CBS, Univision, GlobeNewswire, Telemundo, Hispanic Shark Tank, Times of Israel, KRON-TV, Hispanic Executive, Latin America Reports, Al Dia News, and Latino Leaders Magazine. In 2017, The Voice of America named Pedro "The Robinhood of Technology”. Pedro serves on the board of directors of Notre Dame de Namur University, Silicon Valley Tech Academy, ActAware, Loyal Card, Inkas Rent A Car, Autoespar, Lunahuana River Resort, UltraFarma, Las Torres, Guapolindo, and GESA.

In 2017, Pedro gave his TED Talk – Build the Bridge – sharing his American Dream story having 22,000 views. In 2020, Pedro joined the Silicon Valley Leadership Group as the VP of Business Development. In 2021, Pedro was elected as the Vice Curator for Global Shapers in Palo Alto by the World Economic Forum. In 2022, Pedro got accepted to the LinkedIn Creator Accelerator Program as a Technology & Innovation Awardee having 21,300 followers. Later, he became the CMO of Ever Medical Technologies to lead the marketing team. In 2023, Pedro received the NextGen 30 Under 30 Award presented by Goldman Sachs. Later, Pedro was appointed to the Advisory Board of 1t.org of the World Economic Forum. In 2024, he founded RoseFem to empower women to live well in every season of life by approaching healthcare from an integrated perspective. That year, Pedro received the Silicon Valley 40 Under 40 Award presented by BMO. Pedro’s Pan Peru has given 3,000 children access to STEM education and reforested 15,000 trees. Pedro has received recognition for his success, he has received the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 HITEC 100 Awards - which features the 100 most influential Latinos.

Michelle Kwok

Dr. Michelle Kwok is an allergist and immunologist practicing in Montréal, Canada. She completed medical school at University of Sydney and her residency at McGill University. Dr. Kwok is passionate about medical outreach to resource poor areas both locally and internationally. She co-founded Connexion Nordique, a quality improvement initiative to provide allergy care to Indigenous peoples of northern Québec through virtual consultation, education, and in-person trips. In addition, she has participated in service trips to Rwanda, Angola, Ghana, Mongolia, and China. Dr. Kwok is a classically trained singer and co-writes contemporary music and co-organizes events with local artists. She also speaks Cantonese with working medical proficiency in Mandarin and French.

Judy LeMaster RN

Judy LeMaster is a registered nurse raised in London, England and educated at Westminster Hospital and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Skilled in midwifery and fluent in the Nepali language, Judy and her husband Joe LeMaster lived in Nepal from 1990-2000, serving at Okhaldhunga Hospital the only medical care facility for 300,000 people, where they promoted maternal-child health. Judy also served at Nepal’s Amp Pipal Hospital as a nursing supervisor, alongside a newly appointed Nepali nursing superintendent. More recently, Judy aids Bhutanese refugees resettled in the Kansas City area, teaching English as Second Language (ESL) in association with Mission Adelante, and continues to lead healthcare teams to Nepal, where her cultural expertise facilities their effective service.

Roy Moran THM

Roy Moran is the primary leader of Shoal Creek Community Church, one that is fully engaged in orphan care, health, and economic development for the community of Bhukwini, South Africa. Before founding Shoal Creek, Roy was Vice President of Human Resources for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Along with his responsibilities at Shoal Creek, Roy has served as a consultant in the areas of leadership development, executive coaching, and team building with SkillPath. Roy is a graduate of Baylor University and Dallas Theological Seminary. He loves golf, his four children, and wife, Candy, in reverse order.

Julie Rosá MD, DIMPH, MIH

Dr. Rosá is a Family Medicine physician and graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine (1991-1995). Dr. Julie, as she is affectionately called both in Hiawatha KS and at Kanad Hospital in UAE, completed a Family Medicine Residency at Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency (1995-1998). She and her husband of 29 years both practiced Family Medicine in Hiawatha where her full spectrum family medicine practice included surgical obstetrics, emergency medicine, inpatient and outpatient whole person healthcare focused on the love and care of Jesus Christ. Dr. Rosá graduated from in INMED’s Master’s Degree in International Health (MIH) program, which provided the knowledge, relationships, and opportunity for God to lead onward to practice medicine at Kanad Hospital in the sand dunes of Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.

Nicholas Comninellis is President and Professor of INMED, the Institute for International Medicine. He is also faculty at Research Medical Center Family Medicine Residency. Over a two-year period Dr. Comninellis served inner-city citizens at Shanghai Charity Hospital. Over another two years, he led a healthcare ministry in the war-besieged nation of Angola in southern Africa. Dr. Comninellis next served for six years in the Kansas City public hospital before launching INMED in 2003.

He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine and Saint Louis University School of Public Health and was a family medicine resident at John Peter Smith Hospital. Dr. Comninellis also earned a professional diploma in tropical medicine from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and became board certified in both public health and family medicine. Among his authored books are Shanghai DoctorWhere Do I Go From Hereand INMED International Medicine & Public Health. Dr. Comninellis is a classical guitarist and faculty co-advisor for UMKC Cru. He was recognized as the 2009 United Nations Association of the United States World Citizen and the 2015 University of Missouri-Kansas City Alumni of the Year.
