Obstetrics care requires critical information about the mother and baby. Ultrasound is an essential technology to supply such vital information. This course develops skills in early pregnancy ultrasound (confirmation, location) and third trimester ultrasound (parity, pulse, pocket, placenta, presentation, postpartum evaluation). This course requires that participants already have attained basic obstetrics skills and experience.
This is a hybrid learning experience that combines online preparation with a one-day in-classroom workshop to master hands-on skills and assess achievements.
Proceed through this content in chronological order. Click the “Mark Complete” button at the end of each section. Note: To view the full width of each page without scrolling left to right, please collapse the left-side menu using the arrow in the top left of the page. The online learning experience requires about 6 hours and must be completed prior to participating in the in-classroom workshop..
Give special attention to the two last sections. In-Classroom Obstetrics Ultrasound Skills Workshop Resources includes the Obstetrics Ultrasound Skills Demonstration Checklist. As you demonstrate your skills throughout the day, have each skill signed off by a course faculty. At the conclusion of the day, please take a photo of your completed checklist and then turn in the paper copy to the course faculty.
Once you have finished the in-classroom workshop, open the Professional Qualification Course in Obstetrics Ultrasound Evaluation and click the link to open and complete the Course Evaluation. This is required in order for you to receive your continuing education certificate or certificate of completion, which will be emailed to you within 5 business days.
